Blog: Create a comment on your blog telling about yourself and your expectations for this session. Be sure to include your first name, and the name of your school.

Activity #2 Social Bookmarking

Two popular social bookmarking tools are Delicious and Diigo. With a partner, view the video on setting up a Delicious account http://delicious.com/ and visit http://www.diigo.com/ to learn more about Diigo. Set up an account with both. Then explore by adding a bookmark for this wiki and your blog in Delicious and Diigo. In Diigo, join the following two groups: teacher-librarians and Web2.0 at School.

Blog: Comment on your blog about the site you believe you will use the most, and tell how it will benefit you professionally as well as in your library media center.

Start up pages have many uses in the school library media program. Tutorials below are several example using three start-up page tools, Pageflakes, iGoogle, and Protopage. Activity #5 Creating Your Personal/Professional Learning Network (PLN)

Explore the following and create your own PLN by subscribing to Blog feeds in Google Reader, join Twitter and choose people to follow, and join a Ning. Then go to your iGoogle page and click "add stuff" and add Google Reader and Twitter to your iGoogle page. Second Life will be share as a whole group activity. The links below will get you started when you are ready to explore it.
